RAPTURE

The mark, and how to use it.

The wordmark, the R, the colours and the type. Everything you need to put Rapture on a page that is not ours.

The R

An R in a rectangle and nothing else. The corners are square on purpose: a rounded badge reads as an app icon, and this is a studio rather than an app. The letter is Archivo Black drawn at 118% width, the same setting as the wordmark, stored as an outline so it renders the same on a machine that has never heard of the typeface.

Files

The wordmark

Archivo at weight 900, width 112.5%, letterspacing minus 0.06em, always set in capitals. Never retype it in another face, and never letterspace it by eye: those three numbers are the wordmark.

RAPTURE

Colours

The three that make the brand, and the one that says something is running. Everything else on this site is a tint of them.

  • EmberThe accent. The only colour that ever asks for attention.#FF4D1C
  • InkThe ground everything sits on.#0A0A0A
  • BoneType, and anything that has to be read.#EFECE7
  • SignalOpen, live, still running.#3DD07F

Type

Archivo carries everything that is read as language. IBM Plex Mono appears only where a figure is genuinely tabular, such as a step number or a clock.

Aa

Archivo, 100 to 900, variable width

Aa

IBM Plex Mono, 400 and 500

Next to your logo

Co-branding is the one place the mark stops being ours alone, so there are four rules and all four are about the gap.

RAPTUREYour logo

The lockup with its clear space drawn in. Every ghost is the mark itself, so the gap is one mark on every side.

  • One mark of clear space on every side. That is the unit, and it grows with the mark rather than with the page.
  • A hairline where the clear space ends. Without it the two marks read as one company.
  • Match the optical height, not the measured one. A wordmark beside a square mark reads taller than it measures, so set the pair by eye.
  • Never lock the two into one shape. They stand beside each other and stay two marks.

Using it

  • Leave clear space around the mark of at least the height of the R on every side.
  • Do not stretch, rotate, outline or add a shadow to the mark.
  • Do not recolour it. Ember on ink, or bone on ink, and nothing else.
  • On a photograph, place the mark on a plain area or do not place it at all.
